A Director is the creative driving force, they act as the crucial link between the production, technical and creative teams. Directors are responsible for turning a written script into actual images and sounds on screen. They act as both a storyteller and team leader to being a vision to reality. A Directors job invloves casting, script editing, shot compostition, shot selection and editing.
A Directors responsiblitly includes being able to vision the finished film and to define a pratical route for achiving it. During pre-production they have to selec the right cast for the parts in the film, crew and locations. They can also manage the camera, sound, lighting, design and special effects to make sure everything is how it should to make the finished film perfect. They work along side the Editors to make sure they are editing the film how he/she thinks it should be to reach the final version of the film.
Directors must have artistic vision and creative skills. Have a commitment and a deep passion for filmmaking as well as being able to be a strong and confident leader. They must be able to work for long intensive hours, have attention to detail and be able to remain calm and think clearly under pressure.

Camera Operator
Camera operators play a vital role within the camera department on featured films. They work alongside the Director and The Director of Photography, they carry out their instructions accurately regarding shot composition and development. It’s the camera operator’s responsibility to make sure the camera moves in key to the narrative flow of feature films. The work is physically demanding, it requires a high level of strength and stamina. The hours are 12-14 a day and sometimes forgiven travel may be required involving long periods spent away from base.
Its a Camera Operators job to ensure that the camera and equipment are prepared for the required set up, making sure they keep alert for any last minute changes. You must be able to multitask and be able to watch, listen and think on your feet while carrying out complex technical tasks.
Camera operators begin their careers as camera trainees to runners. They then progress to being a 2nd AC then as they gain more experience to a 1st AC. They build up their experience and achieve high levels of competence when operating a variety of cameras, this will then get them to a DoP or a camera operator.

Film editors are a part of the creative post-production process of film making. They work closely with the Director to make sure they edit the footage in the way he Director wants. The film editor works in the cutting room which can sometimes be on set, they work with raw footage they collect the best takes and edit them into sequences that all work together to create a finished film. They sometimes work with the scenes at the end of the film before working on those at the beginning.
Editors will progress from starting as a runner to then working up to Trainees, Second Assistant, First Assistant and then they will eventually become Editors. Because of the increasing use of digital editing techniques this has changed the film industry. Because of this Second Assistants are now only employed on big budget films. Assistants who are very experienced may also work as Editors on short films, this enables them to showcase their talents.

Financial Jobs
Film Accountants are responsible for managing the money to ensure the production comes in on budget and everyone gets paid. Film Accountants work closely with the Producer and the production cast to make schedules and budgets for the film. They also manage the day to day office functions.

Legal jobs have become very popular in the media industry. This is because if a film uses certain music the person who owns the music could accuse them of copyright. Most people in the media industry hire a media lawyer so they can get the rights to use certain music in there film ect.
Administrative Jobs
An Administrative assistant or a secretary is a person who's job is to assist all aspects of of administrative management. This means they have to manage inventory of assets and supplies, scheduling and coordinating meetings, interviews and events. They also send faxes and manage the files, prepare meeting notes and internal support materials for the person they are working for. Without a secretary or an assistant the person they work for would be overrun with things to do as well as doing there main job, so a secretary/assistant helps to organise everything as well scheduling meetings and interviews.
A researcher is someone who's job consists of researching information for different types. Researchers can have jobs in academic,idustrial,goverment or private insitutues. They are an important in the media sector because people rely on them to advise and help the empolyees.
